Back in the game...
So.... It's been a rough semester. Each semester has seemed to get progressively more challenging, but this one was by far the worst. Haven't posted much on here simply because I haven't had much to show that I'm proud of. However, in the end my hard work did pay off, and while I didn't necessarily pass with flying colors, I passed nonetheless. I even managed to get a B on the piece below, which was something for me to be very proud of considering I had been struggling to get C's and C-'s all semester in this class. I've been taking a 2-week mental health break from art, to reassess everything and get to a point where I could face the terror of a graphite pencil and a blank page in front of me, and I think I'm at that point. So here's my Drawing From Imagination final project, and in the coming weeks I will be finishing my black-and-white dummy book for my final project and posting those on here as well. Also planning on doing A LOT of sketching and attending many workshops once they start up again, and will be posting that as well. BIG thanks to everyone who helped me a long the way, couldn't have done it with out the help of my great and very talented friends. Just felt the need to explain myself/vent a little. Now, back to art!

Fine Art! Finally.

Finally getting around to posting some of the paintings I did in Situation and Environment last semester.... Please pardon my crappy camera. Had to leave the flash on in some of them because my camera does not function well without it.
Also, big thank you to my lovely models, my roommate Lisa (who has put up with me painting/drawing her like 5 million times now), my fellow Art-Slaves Nicole and Anais, and my devastatingly handsome boyfriend Broc.

New tablet!

This is my first blog post in a long while. After a few "minor" digital setbacks (i.e. my macbook with my whole life on it was ruthlessly stolen), I now have a new mac up and running, and with a slew of new adobe products, and also a brand spankin' new wacom tablet. Below is my first experiment on it, I felt out of practice and rusty, so perhaps starting with a full portrait wasn't the best idea, but oh well. Hopefully I will have some better things to show soon as today was the first day of the semester, til' then bear with me!

One Final Down

As of 10:35 this morning I am officially done with my digital painting final... which has been a crisis and a half, thanks to technology, and the fact that we will never get along. But I managed to salvage a jpeg of it, (though I lost my perfectly organized and labeled layers!) and finish it up. It's not as tight or clean as I would like it to be, if I had another hour or so in the cintiq lab I could probably get it to where I want it, but alas, time is very thin these days. One down, 2 to go! Then 6 weeks of freedom!
